Hi everyone. Hope you all had a fabulous festive season with a promising year to come!
Here is just a little info on what Arajeng was up to for the festive season. We did a trip through Eastern Cape and how wonderful it was!
This is the route we followed in short: Tiffendale, Naudes Nek, Oesterbaai, Baviaanskloof, Witteberge, (Kango caves) Oudtshoorn, Gamkaskloof (Hel), Prins Albert.
I can recommend this trip to any other safari or bike (off-road) enthusiasts. This is one breathtaking trip, so don’t rush it! The most beautiful part is by far the Baviaanskloof!
These tours are not for the faint hearted. It takes hours of planning with a program that hopefully can be followed (because you never know what is waiting for you around the next corner!)
It’s a lot of hard work... you load everything, tie it up, load everything off, load everything again, pack up, unpack, reorganise and then you unpack again! This you can do hundreds of times! But it’s all worth while!
To safari with other enthusiasts, to make our country a part of us, to realize that you have a lot to be thankful for is amazing.
Another wonderful opportunity is to listen to other peoples stories from very remote places. They are different, they think different and live a lot different than us usual city slickers.
We even slept in the open bushes a few time! Why? Because we can ;-)
Statistics:
17 Days, 3 vehicles, 16 people, 5 quads and 3 two-wheelers!
11 Gravel road mountain passes.
Total of 3600km, quads did 650km and the two-wheelers a 1200km. This is all just in short! But all of you must definitely go and do this one!
Season greetings to you all (know it’s a bit late) and whishing you the best for 2010!
